Voltas wins appeal; Appellate Authority drops Rs.4.41 Cr GST demand and Rs.29 lakh penalty
The Appellate Authority has allowed the appeal filed by Voltas Limited against the demand order of the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Cuttack - I City Circle, Odisha, according to the exchange filing.
The Deputy Commissioner levied a demand of Rs.4,41,49,977/- (including interest) with respect to disallowance of Input Tax Credit (ITC) and imposed a penalty of Rs.29,23,999/-, under the provisions of Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
The penlaty was imposed for mismatch in ITC claimed in GSTR-3B and ITC available in GSTR-2A due to non-filing of the GST Returns by some of the vendors.
