T.N. government will bear GST on MLA constituency development fund: CM Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (April 26, 2025) told the Assembly that the State government would bear the 18% GST levied on the MLA constituency development fund.
Responding to Congress member Chandrasekar, the Chief Minister said other members had also brought to his notice that the GST on execution of works under the MLA constituency development scheme had affected projects.
He said that Tamil Nadu had the highest allocation for the scheme and that every constituency received Rs. 3 crore per year.
“The government will bear the GST to ensure that the works are not affected in constituencies,” he further said.
