T witnesses 10% growth in GST figures for 2023-24
Hyderabad: Telangana clocked an overall Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection growth of 10% in the 2023-24 financial year as compared to the previous financial year. Overall GST figures available for financial year 2023-24 show that GST collection was 40,650 crore, up from 37,026 crore in 2022-23.
Thanks to tight checking of tax leakages and curbs on the indiscriminate release of GST claims, the state also registered a significant 19% growth in State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) figures.
Of the total 40,650 crore GST collected in 2023-24, the SGST component was 20,012 crore, which represented an increase of 19 % from the SGST figure of 2022-23 at 16,876 crore.
