New GSTR-1 Update: GSTN enables Auto HSN Summary Import from E-Invoices for Efficient Filing

In a recent update to the GSTR-1 filing process, a new feature has been introduced in “Table 12 – HSN wise summary of outward supplies” specifically for taxpayers who generate e-invoices. This addition allows taxpayers to directly import HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) data from their e-invoices into their GSTR-1 form. This enhancement is designed to streamline the process of filing returns by reducing the need for manual data entry. Taxpayers who utilize e-invoicing can now automatically populate the HSN summary in their GSTR-1 with the relevant data from their electronic invoices. This feature is particularly beneficial for those with exclusively B2B (Business-to-Business) supplies, as it significantly reduces the time required for HSN data entry by eliminating the need to manually input data for transactions where e-invoices were generated.
