Ludhiana's taxation department has initiated an awareness campaign to educate residents about the OTS scheme for GST payment and the 'Mera Bill' app. The campaign, led by taxation commissioner Arshdeep Singh Thind and deputy commissioner Darvir Raj Kaur, includes OTS camps and door-to-door drives to promote these initiatives.
The taxation department of Ludhiana has kick-started an awareness campaign aimed at educating its residents about two core initiatives: the One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for GST payment and the 'Mera Bill' mobile application. This campaign is part of a broader initiative driven by the Punjab government to encourage taxpayers to avail the benefits of the OTS scheme, and to promote the digital adoption through the 'Mera Bill' app.
OTS Scheme: A Lifeline for Taxpayers
The OTS scheme is a significant part of this campaign. Implemented by the state government, it provides taxpayers with an opportunity to pay half of the demanded tax, while simultaneously waiving off the associated interest and penalty. This scheme, a financial lifeline for many, is being promoted through OTS camps organized by field officers in the Ludhiana division, aiming to motivate taxpayers to take advantage of this opportunity. The promotion of OTS is being carried out through various mediums such as door-to-door drives and phone calls, as well as in-person visits to ensure maximum reach.
