Lowering GST to 5% on helmets vital for safety, aiming at 10 Million units this fiscal
Home-grown helmet manufacturer Steelbird Hi-Tech has unveiled ambitious plans for the fiscal year 2024-25. The company aims to market 10 million helmets, backed by significant growth initiatives including manufacturing capacity expansion and the potential establishment of a new facility in southern India with a projected investment of Rs 100 crore.
Besides that, the company is expanding its existing Baddi plant in Himachal Pradesh by integrating new machinery and production lines. This includes transitioning towards a more automated mode with an automated paint shop and robotic visor coating system. Additionally, the company has procured additional land in Baddi, with a capital expenditure of Rs 105 crore. Once complete, this expansion will boost production capacity to 50,000 units per day.
