Jagran Prakashan faces Rs.1.62 Crore GST demand, Plans legal response
Jagran Prakashan Limited has received Show Cause Notices, from the Joint Commissioner, State GST, Kanpur under section 73 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, according to an exchange filing.
The show cause notice requires the Company to show cause as to why the alleged GST Demand of Rs.1,62,00,040 and penalty of Rs.16,20,004 along with applicable interest for the period April 2020 to March 2021 should not be demanded from the Company.
The Company will be filing an appropriate response within the prescribed timelines or evaluating other legal options against the said SCN. "The Company based on Legal advice, believes that it has a strong case on merit," said the company in the stock filing.
The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
