GST evasion cases worth 13,794cr in Haryana till October 2023
The amount of GST evasion in Punjab has been Rs 481 crore, in Himachal Pradesh it has been Rs 169 crore and in UT Chandigarh, of Rs 145 crore.
Sharing these details in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Union Minister of finance Sushil Kumar Modi submitted that in total, GST evasion cases of Rs 1.51 lakh crore have been detected across the country this financial year till October.
At the same time, the authorities have been able to make recovery of Rs 2,908 crore GST from the accused in Haryana till October, Rs 145 crore in Punjab, Rs 52 crore in Himachal and Rs 89 crore in UT Chandigarh.
As many as 18 accused have been arrested in GST evasion cases in Haryana during the current financial year, three in Punjab and there has been no such arrest in Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh.
The minister also informed the Rajya Sabha that 71 show cause notices involving GST to the tune of Rs 1.12 lakh crore have been issued to online gaming companies during the financial year 2022-23 and 2023-24 up to the month of October.
