GST dept. orders T.V. Today Network Limited to pay 2 Cr for short payment of tax
The Assistant Commissioner, Central Goods & Service Tax, Division — I, Noida has passed an order under section 73 of Central Goods & Services Tax Act (“CGST Act”), 2017/Uttar Pradesh Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017 read with Section 20 of Integrated Goods & Service Tax Act, 2017 and Section 122 (2) (a) of CGST Act, 2017, according to exchange filling.
The Order has been passed on the contention of Short payment of Tax and Ineligible Input Tax Credit availed by the Company for FY 2019-20.
The GST Department has sought a demand of Rs. 2,16,11,820/-; Interest at the prescribed rate u/s 73 and Penalty of Rs. 21,61,182/-.
The company has stated occurance of no material impact on the financial or operations or other activities, due to the said Order.
