Goa's GST collections in April see 23% jump
PANAJI: The gross GST collections for Goa hit a high in April showing a 23% year-on-year growth due to anti-evasion measures and year-end compliances. The total GST mop-up in Goa stood at Rs 765 crore in April as against Rs 620 crore a year earlier.
Out of the Rs 765 crore, the state treasury will get Rs 445 crore, with the remaining amount going into Centre's coffers.
"The GST collections are driven by a strong increase in economic resurgence, higher compliance, anti-evasion measures and year-end sales in March," said a senior official.
