Consumer goods companies in India are seeing normalised inventory levels after GST disruptions, with production now at full capacity. Companies anticipate a strong sales rebound starting next quarter as operational adjustments are complete and GST benefits are passed on to consumers, driving demand.

Inventory levels across India’s consumer goods sector have normalised, after nearly three months of disruption caused by the GST overhaul, and companies now expect a strong rebound in sales.

Production is running at full capacity, said Dabur, Emami, AWL Agri Business, Zydus, Godrej, Parle Products and several other companies, as they build inventories in anticipation of a strong demand pickup starting next quarter, reversing the trend during the transition to new GST rates.
