Exclusive | India may provide GST relief to foreign airlines, shipping lines and Infosys
The government is likely to introduce Goods and Services Tax (GST) relief measures for major players, including Infosys, foreign airlines, and foreign shipping lines, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The government is expected to revisit and potentially ease the provisions introduced in the June circular during the upcoming GST Council meeting scheduled for September 9.
The decision comes in response to growing concerns that the current regulations are affecting the ease of doing business, particularly in the service sector.
The Department of Revenue, under the Ministry of Finance, is reportedly considering these changes to provide greater clarity and reduce compliance burdens for affected businesses.
