Escorts Kubota receives over Rs.3.4 crore tax demand from Maharashtra authorities
Farm and construction equipment maker Escorts Kubota Ltd on Tuesday said it has received a tax demand, including interest and penalty, totalling more than Rs.3.4 crore from Maharashtra tax authorities over the eligibility of input tax credit.
In a regulatory filing, the company said the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Pune South, Maharashtra, passed an order confirming a tax demand of Rs.1.76 crore, along with interest of Rs.1.47 crore and a penalty of Rs.17.63 lakh. The order was received on December 29, 2025.
Escorts Kubota said it is evaluating the order in consultation with tax advisers and intends to file an appeal before the appropriate appellate authority within the prescribed timelines. The company did not indicate any immediate impact on its operations or financial position.
