Ecorin Energy MD held in Rs 100-cr GST evasion case
Hyderabad: GST officials have arrested Lakshmi Prasanna, the Managing Director of Ecorin Energy Private Limited, in connection with an alleged GST evasion case involving more than Rs 100 crore.
The arrest followed extensive searches at the company’s office in Madhapur, where officials seized key documents and digital records as part of the investigation. According to preliminary findings, GST authorities suspect that the company evaded over Rs 100 crore in GST.
Officials believe the company created fake invoices and manipulated its turnover, causing a huge loss to the government. Holding Lakshmi Prasanna primarily responsible for the alleged tax fraud, GST officials arrested her and have started further investigation.
The investigation is also continuing to examine the role of other individuals and the company’s financial transactions with other firms.
