Delhi bizman, his wife and son held in GST scam
Noida: A Delhi-based businessman, his wife and son were arrested by Sector 20 police station and Noida crime response team in connection with the multi-crore GST scam, police said on Wednesday. More than 40 people have been arrested in the case so far.
Sanjay Dhingra (54), his wife Kanika (55) and son Mayank (27) of East Punjabi Bagh allegedly created nine fake companies to claim Rs 68 crore as input tax credit over last four-five years, DCP (crime) Shakti Avasthy said.
Six luxury cars, Rs 1.4 lakh in cash and seven mobile phones have been recovered from them.
“The family posed to run a dairy business. They were caught for GST fraud on a few counts earlier. Each time they would change their company’s name and resume the operations,” the DCP added.
