City sees 8% rise in July GST collections
Chandigarh: The city saw an increase of 8% in the goods and services tax (GST) collected for July as against the year-ago period. As per the data released by the ministry of finance, GST collections in July 2023 stood at Rs 217 crore, while in July 2024 the figure was at Rs 233 crore.
In May 2023, the collections were at Rs 259 crore, but in May 2024 they were at Rs 237 crore.
The city registered an increase of 23% in the GST collections in April 2024 over the same period last year. GST collections in April 2023 stood at Rs 255 crore, which increased to Rs 313 crore in April 2024. In March 2023, GST collections stood at Rs 202 crore as against Rs 238 crore in March 2024.
In February, the city registered an increase of 12% in the GST collections over the same period last year. GST collections were at Rs 211 crore as against Rs 188 crore in February 2023.
