RAIPUR: A businessman in Chhattisgarh was booked for threatening a woman GST department officer, claiming he had the power to influence the govt. His premises were also searched by the department as he tried to mislead the officer.

The audio recording of the conversation was widely shared on social media. The viral audio allegedly features a GST employee who was out to check the authenticity of the location and premises registered.

When she calls and asks him about the exact address of the place, the businessman of a private company threatened her by claiming he could use his influence. In the audio, the businessman is heard saying, "Should I call OP Choudhary? The govt is ours, I'll tell them that you're demanding one lakh rupees."

The conversation escalates with the businessman questioning the officer about her authority to conduct inspections and accusing her of falsely claiming that his business was not operational.

The officer repeatedly denied the allegations over the call and apologised repeatedly, stating that she was simply carrying out her duties, but the businessman continued misbehaving and threatening her. The audio concludes with the businessman claiming that he ‘formed’ the govt, further emphasising his influence over the situation.
