CBIC issued Instructions on veterinary Health Certificate for Import of Milk and Milk Products

Reference is invited to Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) OM F.No. L-11/1/2019-Trade (E-11542) dated July 17, 2023 and March 31, 2023 (copies enclosed) on the above subject matter

Vide above OM dated March 31, 2023, DAHD has mandated the requirement of integrated Veterinary Health Certificate for import of Milk and Milk Product into India incorporating DAHD’s sanitary requirements and requirement of FSSAI’s food safety to be certified by the exporting country along with the consignments to be exported into India. The exporting country may issue single Veterinary Health Certificate, certified by Official Veterinarian or certificate with annexure as per its regulation. Vide OM dated July 17, 2023, DAHD, has increased the transition/migration time till December 31, 2023.

It is requested that necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdiction regarding the said matter.

The CBIC Instructions No. 06/2020-Customs dated May 20, 2020 and Instruction No. 18/2022-Customs dated August 12, 2022 with respect to requirement of Veterinary Health Certificate for import of Milk and Milk Products is modified to the above extent.
