CBIC instruction w.r.t. testing of coumarin in imported Cinnamon

The CBIC issued Instruction No. 28/2021-Customs dated December 09, 2021 regarding testing of coumarin in imported Cinnamon.

Reference is invited to letter F.No.1-1403/FSSAI/Imports/2015 (part 1) dated November 30, 2021 issued by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, New Delhi on the above-mentioned subject (copy enclosed).

It is requested that necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdiction hereby to ensure that the all imported consignments of cinnamon get tested for coumarin content (on dry basis), which should not be more than 0.3 percent by weight.
