19% increase in GST, UP beats Punjab, K’taka
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh recorded 19% increase in GST collections in Jun, compared to the same period last year. This is the sharpest increase for a large state, making UP the sixth highest revenue earner through GST among states.
The state recorded GST revenue of Rs 9,165 crore in Jun, as opposed to Rs 7,675 crore in Jun 2025. A govt spokesperson said UP’s 19% growth has surpassed the growth in states like Punjab, which recorded a 14% increase, Kerala with an 11% increase and Karnataka with a 10% increase.
However, in terms of total collection, UP remains in sixth position, behind Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana and Tamil Nadu. In May, UP’s GST revenue was Rs 8,728 crore, a 13% increase over the Rs 7,732 crore collection of May 2025.
“A double-digit growth for two consecutive months has indicated that the state’s economy is gaining momentum continuously,” the official said.
